I need a fork, a knife, 50 gallons of BBQ sauce, 3 tonnes of salsa and some onion rings. And a regular Coke...
mmm steak...
Me too please, but what's for pudding? Oh and I'll have a Diet Coke instead please
Aren't they supposed to put fires out instead of starting them*? Maybe that's in their next week of training.and fire-fighters lit six tonnes of charcoal
*Yes I know you can control a fire by starting one deliberately, such as in managing forest fires.
Such a waste! Think of all the beef jerky that could have become!!!

Heaven. Pure, beefy heaven. [/swoons]
Well at least they've got the weather for a BBQ over there.
Last year I had 1 BBQ and in the end we used the cooker as the weather turned on us and made it impossible to cook.
I could murder a steak about now, medium please with some hot sauce to give it a kick
I probably shouldn't have clicked on this topic, since so could I now - though not medium, rather well done (but not burnt).
Never tried hot sauce though, spiciest thing I've had is probably a Chicken Madras from my local Indian takeaway - is it definitely worth trying, and if so what brand?
1.5KM of BBQ....
WOW!
Just thinking of that makes me salavate.

Personally, I find a Hot Piri Piri sauce the right combination of spicy and flavoursome. Others will disagree and say it has to be infernally hot and these have to be ordered from special websites normally.
Another tasty alternative is to top the steak with salsa, a few tortilla chips and melt some cheese over the top.

Right, hang on- 1000 'barbecue addicts', 12,000kg of beef = 12kg of beef each? I like my steak, but I couldn't eat 15% of my own bodyweight of it....
Well done steak? Each to their own I suppose....
Seriously though, have you ever tried it medium (or even rare)? I know a lot of people are put off by the blood, but I've not known one yet that went back to having it well done after we told them to shut their eyes and try it. Even my father in law who used to incinerate his steak now has it medium.
Personally I wouldn't have anything other than (pimento) pepper/pepper sauce or maybe mustard on a good steak, but if you want to try some good hot sauces have a look in the 'ethnic' section of your local supermarket if there is one. I recommend the little bottles of Jamaican Hot Pepper Sauce from Grace/Tropical Sun etc. (the sauce seems to be the same regardless of brand). I quite often swig it straight from the bottle- which gives me a flaming mouth and the hiccups, followed by an endorphin rush. Then I usually have another swig- it's absurdly addictive, but bad for my guts the following day if I overindulge. The sauce is great on tacos etc. even if you're not into mainlining it like me.Never tried hot sauce though, spiciest thing I've had is probably a Chicken Madras from my local Indian takeaway - is it definitely worth trying, and if so what brand?
Piri-Piri is also a good choice as previously recommended. My favourite sauce recently has been a bottle of Encona Cajun sauce (again from Tescos 'Ethnic' section). It's a combination of habaneros and mustard and it goes an absolute treat with sausages, and lots of other stuff.
