    Favourite Barbeque food?

I know it seems like its too early for even thinking of barbies, but last year I did my first barbie sometime in late March/Early April.

I love a nice bit of chicken breast marinated in piri piri, tomato and balsamic.. or a nice juicy bit of tuna or salmon, either plain or flavoured to give a nice zing.

Served with these I fancy a good tossed salad, perhaps some wild rocket, spring onion and cherry tomatoes, dressed with some lemon juice and a good olive oil.. a bit of rock salt and black pepper... yum!

So what are you guys looking forward to when the outdoor cooking season is upon us?

lamb chops marinated with mint and garlic is very tasty.
or some excellent snags from my local butcher - he does a pack ranging from pork and leek through to beef with red green and yellow peppers! very tasty, and every sausage is a surprise.
Boat race day will be my first official bbq of the summer season, but I will of course recommend that everyone brings coats!

Decent burgers (home made of course - nice chunky ones)

Marlin (really nice BBQd but a bit pricey in most places)

And mackeral fillets done at end of the BBQ - when there's just hot ash left. Wrap them in foil with a little bit of chilli sauce or lemon juice then stick them on top of / bury them in the ashes (depending on how hot it still is!). Damn tasty.

I know they're rather simple, but when there's wine be drunk on a warm evening, it needs to be!

The MOST simple, but just has to be my favourite is HALOUMI, sliced and cooked on the barbecue - just heaven!!

Also... pork kebabs (with peppers etc) marinated in honey and mustard

Home-made burgers - choices are endless as to the things you can mix with the meat... just mustard, or chillies and parmesan, or rosemary in a lamb burger....

I'm hungry now... roll on summer nights!!!

(Oh and I forgot one.... bananas in their skins, sliced (on the concave side!) and chocolate buttons shoved in, wrapped in foil and onto the bbq...mmmmmm!)

It's a Greek cheese (semi-hard cheese made from sheeps milk I believe, with mint added, quite salty), you can buy it in most supermarkets. Just slice it, and put it on the bbq. It doesn't melt, it just sets and goes brown and crisp - it's gorgeous!! (You can put it under the grill, or even fry it if you can't wait for bbq weather! Not quite as nice though.... but not bad!)

I love sausages in a slightly toasty roll with lotsa grease and lotsa brown sauce ... lovely and onions ontop

As my friends tend todo the cooking for BBQs and there not very good normal cooks the selection is limited although still nice.
