    Fast and healthy?

Looking for ideas for some dishes that are very fast to prepare and are also healthy.

I basically need to get more vegetables into my diet, yet do not get much time to cook.

Ideally, I need to cook in around 10-15mins, just about the only foods I do not like are all sea food, nuts and the marrow/courgette/aubergine family.

What do you health-concious people cook when your strapped for time?

    TIA

My best tip is to get a wok

Basically you can make a variety of different tasting dishes that are basically random meat + random veggies + chopped tomatoes + spices/herbs. Normally takes 15-20 minutes to cook, depending on how quick you are at chopping up veg and meat.

To save time, get preprepared veggies and meat, but you tend to pay more.

    Stir-fry is also pretty quick

    Re: Fast and healthy?

    another vote for stir-fry.

garlic, chilli, ginger and soy sauce makes a great sauce and if you want to be really quick you can get pre-minced versions in a jar.

chuck in some chopped meat and peppers and mushrooms etc with the above for a few minutes in a hot wok (plus a little oil) and add somenoodles to boiling water (takes 3mins).

made a prawn stirfry last night which probably took 10 mins all in. tasty.

    Re: Fast and healthy?

Get yourself a steamer. That's real easy. It's surprising what you can cook on these. Meat, veg and pasta are a few.

Put it in, wait for the timer to ping and all done.

I used to put sliced chicken breasts on the bottom tier, pasta on the 2nd and some veg on the 3rd and cook it off quite quick in one go.
(I'm a plain eater so I didn't add any sauce mind)
