    what makes the best smoothie?

do you use fruit juice? yoghurt? ice cubes? water? other?
how do you mix it? do you just stick it all in, in a random order? or is there a 'technique'?

    what fruit(s) do you use?
    do you ever add alcohol?
what type of alcohol do you add?
    and how much alcohol?

if you could also add proportions on your smoothie recipe that'd just be grand*

Re: what makes the best smoothie?

I'm terrible at trying to make things like these but when I was on holiday in the dominican republic, I really enjoyed something called a banana mama.
I think it was banana, dark rum, pineapple and strawberry.

    This is my favourite one...

I go through about 500ml of Innocent every day, it really does hurt the wallet as well

Good thing, I always have lots of that stuff handy then

Which fruits are you allergic too? Coconut? and pineapple? All the best smoothies have at least one of those in (or mango (without orange - mango and orange is not a nice combo))

Re: what makes the best smoothie?

We once had a fairly large bottle of Asda's coconut and pineapple smoothie. We didn't do as it suggested, and drink it within however many hours of opening..It was kinda left, and started to ferment. Once it became fizzy, we decided it was best to throw out and found it smelled strangely alcoholic as well...

Re: what makes the best smoothie?

i just like to make a simple mango one. (but its more of a milkshake).

mango flesh of course, milk, blended... a bit of ice, then blended again quickly to crush the ice up a lil.

u can add ice cream or yoghurt to make it more of a treat if u want, and cashew nuts.

Re: what makes the best smoothie?

Innocent smoothie, or even some of the supermarket ones tend to be better than most of the rest of the market.

PJ smoothies are the worst, followed by those new Nestle Boost ones.

Innocent kids ones are rubbish also

Bit of a thread resurrection here, but if you're going to use 'nanas in smoothies, I recommend using quite ripe ones; they add more of a flavour
