It has to be Vegemite
Tough choice, but I would have to say butter. Proper butter. With lots of salt in it
The toaster may be 100 years old but how many have made it alive past 5 years?

Hmmm... best toast topper is definitely cheese, but going against the thread topic, done under a grill rather than a toaster.
Heat the grill to a medium temperature. Don't have it on high.
Grate some cheese of your choice (I'm happy with normal medium cheddar)
Toast one side of your bread (making sure the grill isn't too hot, so it cooks it slowly and evenly)
Put the cheese on the untoasted side of the bread, making sure that it covers the crusts.
Sprinkle a tiny little bit of oregano over it.
Toast it until the point where the cheese starts to go a little bit brown on top. The reason i cover the crusts is that if you want to get to that stage and the crusts aren't covered, they may burn.
Sometimes a bit of red onion added to the cheese before cooking is nice, and occasionally I've been known to stick some chopped red pepper in there too.

The Paddington Bear one for me. Love marmalade.
Can't believe you left out houmous, the ultimate accompaniment for toast! And for something sweet, I'd go for honey, Mmmmm
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
Marmite on toast ftw
Lemon curd. Mmm, tasty!
Not around too often!
