I adore cooking!!! - Although I see Nick has said this is a room for n00b cooks, I'm still going to contribute.

As to that competition....my recipe would be along the lines of.....1) Take the chicken and leave whole. 2) Take one dustbin and place said chicken within replacing lid firmly. 3) Leave for refuse collection 4) Get some nice wholesome vegitarian ingredients and make a decent meal .

As you can guess I'm one of those weirdo's. Nick and I first crossed paths in these forums after some disagreement about fireman and then about vegetarians...and it's been a laugh ever since.

I will add some Indian Veggie stuff soon when I have a chance, have to bring the recipes in to work with me to transfer them.
Is basically Hari Krishna cooking so involves no onions or garlic which is really strange but can also be tasty.

Interesting. I'm very much into Indian cooking as it must be over 80% of Indians are Vege through religious or economic reasons. As I'm sure many of us here are aware this is the authentic stuff, not the tripe you get in your local Tandoori . My Cooking Bible is "Madhur Jaffrey's Eastern Vegetarian Cooking". Much of it is peasant food (which is just as well ). Simple dishes like the dry cauli and spud dish with whole seeds. I'll have to put a few dishes down. Not the ones you can cook straight outta the recipe book, but the ones that benefit from some experience. The two I can think of now are Rissotto (so often badly cooked) and Felafels.

Can put in a recipe for ricotta cheese too, is called Paneer in hindi, am doing a course with an Indian lady at the moment every Saturday.

That would be nice. We buy the supermarket "paneer", but I bet a homemade one will be soooooo much better.

that depends very much on the milk quality, but if you have good fresh milk then it should be good.
