This may sound like a really stupid question, but how do you cook em, and is there a particular way of doing them really well?

-Winning isn't everything, but losing is nothing
Bets way I've found is to peel the spuds, then par-boil them whole. Let them come to the boil, then tunr off the heat and let them stand for 5 minutes, then drain and allow to cool until you can handle them.
Grate them on a cheese grater, then season and mould into cakes.
Shallow fry in vegetable oil over a medium/hot heat.
and excuse and spelling mistakes in this... been drinking Pimms and lemonade all arvo...
Pimms ? at this time of year ?

What holds these things together? Coz like if its just grated potato, surely its gonna fall apart? At least it probably would on me
Nothing like egg or anything to put in?

The starch in the par boiled potato makes a great glue, think of wallpaper paste.
