    Curry Sauce Request

Hey does anyone have a curry sauce recipe like you get from the chinese?

I have tried loads from google but they are not quite the same...

Also it only needs to serve 2

    Thanks

You can actually buy the concentrated paste from a chinese supermarket just heat and mix with water for consistency and flavour. Not very expense and lasts quite a while, would say it's pretty similar in taste to what you'd get at a takeaway.

You'd be surprised at how little of this kind of thing takeaways actually make them selves, virtually all of it is bought in from wholesalers.

    Re: Curry Sauce Request

Farmfoods sell a packet mix by a company called (iirc) Mayflower which is pretty much identical to the stuff sold in chinese takeaways. It's dead easy to make (couple of minutes in the microwave), pretty hot (despite being described as "Medium" on the packet ) and only £1 for a packet, which contains (theoretically) nine servings.

If you can get access to a local cash and carry you might want to go and pick up the entire range they have.

Then you should mostly be able to match the packets with the various chinese takeaways in the area and find the one you like best

    Re: Curry Sauce Request

The "Chinese" curry is not actually Chinese curry at all. It is actually made from India Madras curry powder and water. Believe it.
