Garlic Salt: is it that easy?
Is it just a few bulbs of garlic in a large glass jar of salt, wobbled about for a few weeks?
I have issues with garlic breath at work but fresh, cored garlic is pretty clear the day after.. its POWERED stuff in instant meals that's the devil...
soo...
how is this garlic salt made?
Lucio... care to share? or do you buy it in?
Re: Garlic Salt: is it that easy?
Dry and then flake/powder garlic. Add it to salt.

is it that easy....
how do you dry garlic? is it a low temp oven.. or leave it to desicate in the kitchen at room temp?
Re: Garlic Salt: is it that easy?
No personal experience, but a quick search suggests thin slicing then low oven temp for a day or two. That'd give you flakes, so just grind them when needed for the powder.

Oh right, I just buy it from the supermarket :) It's in the Spices section, usually Swartzch and their own branded stuff. Usually you have onion salt and celery salts next to them, damned if I know what's in 'em :)
Re: Garlic Salt: is it that easy?
anyone tried black garlic? i am pretty intrigued by it.
Re: Garlic Salt: is it that easy?

Well, judging from this Wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garlic_salt), you'd take chilis, cover them in a chemical to dry them out, then mix in normal salt.
Alternatively, mix chilli powder, paprika and table salt.
