Wow, hasn't gluten free stuff come on in the last few years.
Because of my fibromyalgia, and a recent visit to a conference on same subject, I decided a while ago to restrict my diet to try and alleviate some of the more annoying symptoms of fibro...
I'm currently on a modified Stone Age diet; I'm including bacon, sausage, baked beans, eggs in the diet, plus fruit teas, fruit juices, all very nono in the original diet.
I had bread for the first time in four weeks, a couple of days ago, and boy did I pay for that - I wont go into too many details, but suffice to say my digestive system was *stressed* ;)
So, today, I REALLY wanted a bacon sarnie to eat along side Sally with hers. When I went shopping I thought I'd give some gluten and wheat free bread a try, and blimey, it's actually very palatable !
This one is primarily tapioca and rice flour, with a few other bits plus seeds galore. Just eating a slice with some olive spread right now and rather enjoying it, wonder how well it will fry for my treat tea ?
Mind you, at £2-90 for a 600g loaf it wont be an everyday item in my diet :)
Anyone else on gluten/wheat free diets ?

It fries and toasts beautifully :)

If it's got seeds galore, then I'd probably really like it even though I don't have an issue with gluten.
Sorry, I can't contribute any more to this thread :)

I'm on a gluten free diet as well, though I do not use any ready made products from the stores, I found them too expensive. Instead, I eat self made bread and stuff which are adjusted for my taste :) Also, there's some restaurants offering gluten free meals, it's worth to ask the staff about it.

I keep hearing about this stone age diet lately its as though its the current in thing(I know your doing it for health reasons)
Have you got over the missing of normal bread now?

Pretty much, and now I have this sub Im coping quite well.
and the stone age diet has been round since the 70s to my knowledge.... I went on it in 1993 to combat my rhinitis, and succeeded.
This time, it's to combat IBS, one my least favourite symptoms of my fibro.
I tried potatoes today for the first time since I started, just waiting to see if that brings any problems, hope not cuz I like my roasties, chips and mash :)
