Now and again I don't have time to make a nice pasta sauce, so I sometimes opt for a pre-made one like Knorr's 'Ragu'. However, I find that a lot these types of sauces leave a lot to be desired. Do you folks have any recommendations?

I'm a big fan of Lloyd Grossmans Tomato & Chilli sauce. Exceptionally nice
patak's jalfrezi sauce :)
Yes I know its not a pasta sauce..... but have you tried it with pasta ?
Sacla - not that I'm biased , but they have some really great stuff :)
For Bolognese I like Dolmio and like Moby also like the Sacla sauces, their Pesto is luverly!!

Thirded, especially if you chuck some lemon juice/zest and a green pepper in with it.Quote:

The green pesto is really good, and there's a sun dried tomato and black olive paste that is ace too. I normally just add some peppers and maybe grated mozzarella.
Mmmm :)

I like the chilled pasta sauces in TESCO (next o the pseudo fresh pasta)
The Napoletana and Arribiata (spelling? not ameriticana spelling?) are both
the nice ones. Both are 84p each.
Asda Smartprice Bolognese Sauce - bout 25p a jar, proper good. can't lose!
hmmmmm damn straight...the arrabiata one is gorgeous. Can also use it to make a nice bruchetta type thingy or in cheese toasties!Quote:
