UK Local Brewery and Micro Brewery: your locals

    List your local Brewery here

Give the guys some publicity... cos lets face it... we're only here for the beer

    Aylesbury, Bucks
    http://www.aylesburybrewhouse.co.uk/

Situated in the back of The Hop Pole in Aylesbury, Aylesbury Brew House has beer on tap and waiting for you to but in poly-bottles that they provide and seal for you. Taste a beer and buy it.

They experiment with different beers every time I have visited so always a new taste to try

£2 per pint and then cheaper when you buy large amounts. I tend to spend £16 on 8 pints, choosing my favourite 2 beers on that days taste

"The Come Ye All Nations" Madeley Telford.

Makes a cracking old recipe IPA, two pints and you might want to grab a handrail.

Of course, this was my local, not now sadly.

Had a few pints in the Blue Anchor last year, great pub and great beer.

    Kent, Weald
Out of the small breweries around here, Larkins is my favorite, the porter is fantastic. No website for the brewery, but a friends blog has some info

There are a few smaller breweries dotted about nearby but really the best and easiest to get a drink of is Shepherd Neame just a town along.
    http://www.shepherdneame.co.uk/

Most have likely heard of it or tried it but when i was living in Manchester it was quite scarce. Funnily enough, it was the pub on the corner just across from Liverpool Lime Str. Station's main entrance that used to have Spitfire on regular tap, so that was always nice and reliable.

I am a bit south of you, on the Kent / Sussex border. If you see any beers from Darkstar, or Kent Brewery give t hem a go, they both do some great beers. If you get the chance go to the Dover Winter Beer Festival, its in February. Word of warning, all the beers are over 5% and they tend to have a few over 10%.

North Warwickshire, Nr. Nuneaton, Atherstone, Coleshill

Closest by a nose is http://www.churchendbrewery.co.uk/ but only slightly further is http://www.tunnelbrewery.co.uk/ .
Both produce decent beers although church end probably get a wider distribution.

I'm up toward Medway, it was the Faversham Hop Festival just last weekend too. Plenty of the Whitstable brews are worthwhile and i tried Incubus from these guys: http://www.hopdaemon.com/
It was a nice pint, one of the few at the fest that i'd happily have drunk all day, even though most were pretty good. Though a local 7.5% scrumpy that i tried tasted like Toilet Duck smells

Brewdog not so small anymore, but its beers arent really readily available everywhere yet, worth a shot if you are in Edinburgh or Glasgow

Brewdog have a bar in London, also a pub near me (Kent) has some of theirs on. Meantime in Greenwich have a similar style, and can be found down south. To be honest I find Brewdog beers interesting, but rarely want a second pint of their brews, they are not balanced (not designed to be). I tend to hunt out dark strong beers, so winter is a good time for me. If you ever see Greenjack Baltic Trader in a pub, give it a go, its a very strong export stout.

If anyone's in Manchester, there's the Marble Arch pub and micro-brewery just out of the northern quarter that's really good. They have various seasonal beers on tap and try out new flavours now and then with chocolate, ginger, honey and the like in the mix.

New idea: please go back and EDIT your entry to include the TOWN AND COUNTY just above the link, so we can see it easily. Will make visiting them easier if we're out and about and use our mobile phones on this thread
