HELP! student with random tins and stuff.

relaly need to put a student recipe forum here, like we hardly EVER have actual meat or fish, we sometimes have cheese but its 'spensive. Recipes which consist of things students usually have.

    we have like tins of

    hotdogs
    new potatoes
    loads of chopped tomatoes
    spagetti hoops
    sweetcorn
    tuna
    salmon

other than that we have nothing in the fridge except

    apples
    margarine
    milk

oh and we have some pasta.
any yummy recipies?? that are quick and easy, for us students?

we got like sugar and a few real potatoes too.

Me & IMC r gonna starve, lol.

Reet, bung a couple of tins of the tomatoes in a saucepan and add a spoon of sugar. Bring to the boil and then turn down to a gentle simmer. If you have it, add a bit of Worcestershire sauce or even brown sauce to the tomatoes, or some tobasco or a good grind of pepper.

Let that lot cook until it has thickened a bit, then add some stock if you've got any, then cook it down again.

Now you've got a basic tomato sauce, which, if you spice it more will be fine with the pasta and hotdogs, or keep it fairly mild and stir the tuna into it and have that with the pasta instead.

Take two tins of cabbage, boil for 12 hours (adding water where necessary) and you'll have 'The Authentic Hall of Residence Smell' (tm).

cook and drain the pasta, then mix in the tuna and the sweetcorn, 'borrow' some mayo from someone else's fridge and mix that in. sorted!
