Post your really nice wines here please.
I'll kick off with an old fave of mine that I grabbed off the shelf when we were in France last year. I drank this by the bucket load in the late 70s, buying it from Tanners in Shrewsbury, or a cool little Polish deli in Wellington, Shropshire.
Grand Barreil Lamarzelle Figeac, 2009, Grand Cru St Emillion. Cost me €22. Can't find it currently in UK.

70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, wonderfully smooth, well rounded, hints of tannin telling me it has at least 4-5 more years in it.
Tasting - now, I don't want to come over all pretentious, but the nose has heaps of soft fruit like cherry and blackcurrant, on the palate there are hints of menthol, loads of those same fruits, and a tremendously long fine finish with a little bit of dark chocolate at the end.
Tasted 100% better the following day, perhaps a touch of bottle sickness in my one.
Would I pay €22 again for it ? Absolutely. If I could find it in UK at that price. Otherwise it's wait till I visit my folks again.

Have a look in the food & drink section of Hexus, a few of us have posted wines there in the past:

Is it bad that i read menthol as methanol?
Re: Post your really nice wines here please.
Mmm... methanol...
We drink Isla Negra cabernet sauvignon and sauvignon blanc as a staple. It's £9.99 a bottle, but often half price in Tesco. They had it at £3.99 at Christmas, so we have a couple of cases to get through now
Re: Post your really nice wines here please.
Aye, nice red that one. My fave std wine is Tesco Finest Carmenare, wonderfully deep full bodied S American jobbie.
Also the Hardy's Crest Cab/Merlot at half price is great although I wouldnt pay a tenner for it usually.

I'm reet into Argento Malbec at the mo. Our local steakhouse does it, and it's a perfect match for a lump of rump.
I think Majestic do it as well, usually around £7.49 a bottle...
Actually, buy 2 for £6.49 each...

We get on well with some of Sainsburys TTD range - my wife likes the Languedoc very much. Also, the Inycon Selezione Sangiovese Shiraz which is half price at the moment.
Re: Post your really nice wines here please.
I haven't found a Malbec that I like yet !
Re: Post your really nice wines here please.
Try the Argento! Majestic once persuaded me to try another kind of Malbec, but to me, it just didn't taste as good.

Roc St Vincent Bordeaux Sauvignon is great for pasta, seafood, it's on offer at Sainsbury at the moment, that's why I have 4 bottles
It has a sweet pleasant smell and taste. Great for both cookng and drinking.
