    Fine English Produce!

I found my first cox's orange pippins of the year today and they are fantastic! I just love this time of year as all of the english apples start to arrive. Now I am waiting for my first russet, perhaps with a nice piece of cheese. I even got some greengages at the beginning of september and tose are just beautiful. Just make the most of the seasons and enjoy. Oh happy days!

Tesco's winter produce range is now on order and the stock is trickling in slowly, had english russet for a while though. Much prefer winter food I must admit.

I prefer Russetts out of all the mass market stuff. Anyone any recommendations for more obscure varieties?

If ever I needed proof that Hexites > Everyone else, it's three people pointing out how great Russets are

Only problem is that these days some supermarkets sell big (and even reddish) russets, they're meant to be small and yellowish, and that's how they taste best, Bah ASDA Plz don't smother them in cytokinins so they swell up to be big and flavourless (although still much better than a golden delicious).
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.

Mine were from asda, small, yellow/brown and tasty. However if you can't beat pyo or home grown.
