I don't know where to start, there's so much marketing guff I could write a dissertation on bent truths regarding water treatment devices...
In summary, I would never trust any single portable water filtration product that claims it can filter "contaminated" water well enough to drink.
If it was that simple, what's stopping water authorities from just using a bigger version to treat the water you get at home? A £20 device you suck on isn't going to treat water well enough for you be absolutely sure you're not going to get sick from it.
Not only that, I've used "suck" filters before and you really have to suck hard to get any reasonable amount of water through...
Ah, not even one pun or innuendo.
It's tempting though...

Brita filters get expensive real quick.
Really ?
Fluoride has quite an interesting history..

I used to have a brita jug, but ended up replacing it with an inline filter, so we have a tap with a brita filter in the pipeworks. The one I have uses the Brita P1000 filter and is called something like the "online active plus". I don't think it's cheaper than the jug filters, but it is some much more convenient to get filter water out of the tap and not having to replace the filter every month.
Genetically modified crops - answer to starvation in Africa?
Lots of minerals end up in lots of places in the body, that alone simply isn't enough to say it's bad. As I said, fluoride is found naturally in many places in the world, even in bottled water, yet you only hear people complaining about stuff which is added? Humans, and animals in general for that matter, have been drinking 'fluoridated' water long before someone thought to add it in places where it's levels are naturally low.
Oh and while you're at it, you best seek out a toothpaste which is free from fluoride, as people probably get just as much/more fluoride from it than from tap water.
I hear researchers complaining about the toxicity of fluoride: "Some studies suggested that even slightly increased fluoride exposure could be toxic to the brain." - http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/fea...randjean-choi/
To say fluoride is naturally occurring and been ingested for a long time is no argument for it. We used Mercury as a cure for many common ailments and strangely it did work... for some. Turns out Mercury was actually highly poisonous when research was done. It is safer to avoid something that is not well researched, especially when current data collected on the substance does not show it in a favourable light.
Also the dangers of fluoride are found when ingesting it, it clearly states that tooth paste is not to be ingested. Rubbing a paste on your teeth and gums for a few minutes each day is far less exposure to a substance than drinking litres of water that contains a similar percentage of it.
There's nothing conclusive in that article, and what do they mean by 'high'? Natural levels in some parts of the world far exceed acceptable levels for tap water in countries like the UK. I'm not against research into the matter, but you can't just believe every scare story your hear about, especially with the extreme chemophobia displayed by a lot of people these days.
You have to be careful of 'studies' carried out by people with motives, without proper methodology, etc. You can 'prove' anything to suit your agenda if you control how the test is run.
You might not swallow all of your toothpaste, but you will ingest some of it, and toothpaste can contain upwards of 1500ppm fluoride, tap water contains <1ppm, so yes even that tiny amount of toothpaste does contribute significantly to your intake.
That is why i said , "center ", as in treatment center so they can medically monitor you, and overall well being.
Anything can be harmful in certain quantities ,ironically Ibogaine is actually very effective at detoxing people off harmful substances like heroin ,but more importantly ,for me as least, is its potential to be the most powerful way available of decalcifying your pineal gland .
