Also, there's a 7 (seven) year warranty on the machine, including jugs etc supplied with it. It covers motors, gearing, blades and the jug(s) for residential use, though as expected, cosmetic issues and abuse are excluded.
It may just be clever marketing, and psychology, but my assumption is that if a reputable company offers a 7-year warranty, it's because they don't expect to have to honour it too often.
Also, this machine is rated for sufficiently sustained use to be able to blend a soup, then run for long enough for the friction from blades to soup to heat the soup, to serve straight from the blender. I.e. heat, with no heating element.
