Triangle Bread

-Take a slice of bread and cut diagonally to end up with two triangles
-In a bowl, crack two eggs > add few tsp of white sugar > add a little bit of whole milk and stir
-In a pan, add a little bit of sunflower oil and heat it on medium heat
-Dip each triangle , ensuring it is fully dunked in the batter and then lightly fry on the pan. Repeat until batter is used up by other triangle.

Why so much sugar, is it a sweet treat? Eggy bread was always savoury when I grew up, sprinkle of salt & pepper and not much else...!

Edit: Oh almost forgot you can also add some Port, Limoncello and so on to the egg mixture.

The sugar will somewhat caramelise in the pan I'd think, should give it a nice taste.

And if left in the pan till the sugar starts to turn dark brown or almost black you get a chewy texture around the soft bread that I really enjoy, never had it as a savory food though, it's always been a sweet thing in our house.

Also we have always known it as french toast, not eggy bread or triangle bread.
