Red face My range is b0rk3d

Right -I have a rangemaster classic 90 - and today i wanted pizza for lunch, so in normal way turn on main oven put pizza in and leave it.

Anyway - go back an HOUR Later cos I had forgotten and the thing isn't burnt, it is still frozen - my heating element has packed up.

Phone rangemaster (5 phone calls later) Engineer coming Monday - 60+VAT for him and 35+ VAT for a new part.

This is a COMMON fault - how unbelievable is that it is just over a year old.

So miffed - why should I pay 100 quid to fix a 1k cooker which dies under a comon fault

Unlucky David. Always thought Rangemaster was a quality product, unlike some other cheaper ranges.

I bought a couple of cheaper cookers and both packed up after about 15 months so went for a quality range.

Sometimes I think cookers arent built for cooks, if you know what I mean.

Baumatic are cool ranges... not that you'd want to know after spending a grand on something else....

(not that you listened in the first place when I told you about 'em either! )

I have got a lovely baumatic slot in oven and halogen hob. Great stuff really, got it fairly cheap from sainsburys online. However, the service from sainsburys was as shoddy as hell when the supplied us with a dented oven first time around!
    Not around too often!

Yeah, well I can't convince ANYONE that I'm worthy of kit that expensive to review... though I've got some pretty cool ideas on how to overclock the buggers....

lol.... i'm hating having halogen hob - completely pointless... can't even do a decent stew on there as my cast iron cookpot can't be used on a halogen hob. silly. my landlord disagrees with me - thinks it's easier to take care of despite last tenant scratching the surface
