My lastest creation
Apple and Quinch Crumble
Crumble
4oz (ish) of oats
4oz (ish) of plain flour
Handful of chopped Bazil and Walnuts
3oz (ish) butter
3oz (ish) really dark sticky sugar
Mix flour, oats, butter and nuts then bung in sugar and mix some more
Filling
1lb (ish) Windfall apples peeled take out the manky bits
2 Quinces peeled and NO pips
Bung in pan and throw in 3oz (ish) sugar
Heat gently till soft (ish)
Chuck in a handful of raisins (or similar)
Pinch of ground Clove
Dollop of nutmeg
Stir, throw in oven proof dish, bung crumble on top and dust with brown sugar, stick in oven 180 till brown on top.
Enjoy with ice cream, creme fraishe of custard.
Been playing rd with amounts etc for a while and thats our current fav. I considering molasses instead of sugar in the fruit next time...But im outta quinces
