    KFC Pulled chicken burger review

    Here's my short review.
It was a rip-off. £5.40 for a burger made of 2 small chicken fillets on both sides with seriously thin chicken strips cooked in a curry sauce and a slice of cheese on the top and colesalw ( red onions+carrot ) at the bottom. It was filling but was not too impressed.

Go to another fast food restaurant such as Burger King and you'd be paying 8 quid odd for that meal.

But yes for KFC it is a rip off, considering their "box deals", such as Fully Loaded.

Agree with above. Those fast food joints are not good value compared with going to the likes of Aldi or Lidl and getting yourself a whole chicken for 4 quid odd and cooking it yourself.

I tend to avoid places that offer you your food to be served in a 'bucket'.
Grab that. Get that. Check it out. Bring that here. Grab anything useful. Take anything good.

Re: KFC Pulled chicken burger review

Let's focus on the "why" shall we?

Why does KFC.... A company who now do well by our farmers by using only UK chicken and tend to have excellent hygiene standards now ( most are 5 star) and who excel at top value bucket meals.....why do they think they need this addition to their menu?

    Marketing and food trends....that's why

Pulled pork is all the rage in food development... And if you only sell chicken.....well.....?

It should be shredded ( as in duck) ... Not pulled.....

But it's the " in word" so they've used it

    Foolish move

Do what you do best...and don't try to enter another market on a whim......ie KFC shouldn't try to sell flat screen TVs just because every one else does

Re: KFC Pulled chicken burger review

Yeah all this American BBQ style stuff is everywhere right now. There are loads of places doing pretty good burgers at the minute but they are more expensive and aren't exactly 'fast'.
I recently popped into a KFC on my lunch and made the mistake of getting one of those boneless wing things. I forget the name but they put 4 in a little tub part filled with a sauce. I got the hot sauce and it was horrible. It was like a sweet/sour sauce, which had an off putting vinegar taste to it, with a little heat added. I stupidly thought it might have been like the boneless wings you get in bars in the US, which were really nice but these were thoroughly revolting.

Although the fast food places take advantage of people lazyness, if you wanted a chicken sandwich then yes, you certainly could spend £9 on the ingredients and probably make several sarnies.

Why did you go for sweet & sour ?
I had the Flaming sauce one .. think it's called Texan something... it was so fiery that tears were pouring out of my eyes! I also lost 1/2 kilo

No it was the Chilli sauce - it may well have been the same sauce you're referring to although I don't remember it being that spicy so maybe they gave me the wrong one. It wasn't very pleasant - that much I remember

    Yup.

It's neither, by the way - it's just diced chicken, in sauce. No slow-cook, no shredding or pulling.

As it stands, it's *okay*. I'd pick one of these over the goddamn Big Tasty at McDonalds. But the name is meaningless.

Re: KFC Pulled chicken burger review

I'll admit I was a sucker for the bus stop ad - it just looked so good blown up and a bit different from the norm. But the end result was meh! at best. No real taste of the pulled or shredded or whatever chicken it was.

It's basically 2 chicken dippers in a bun with some left over soup style chicken slapped on top. Fairly tasteless imo. Never again!

The best special edition thing they've done was the original Wrapstar about 2007/'08. But the more recent remake they did of that was not as good.

I saw this in store was tempted but then remember how I nearly threw up eating a supercharger. Do not eat much junk food these days.
