That "one cup too many" feeling?
I don't know about everyone else, but I love coffee... really love it. I'm at the point now where I pretty much need it to function most days.
The one thing that I hate though, is when you push it too far and feel weird.
So I'm curious, how often does this happen to other people?
(note: this is all just a bit of fun, dont take it too seriously)
Re: That "one cup too many" feeling?
*hastily removes 1.5l bottle of Pepsi Max from desk*
I have no idea what you're talking about.... ;)
Re: That "one cup too many" feeling?
I like coffee, but only certain brands/types and it depends a lot on my mood.
I drink lots of it if I'm in the office, because it's free and not desperately bad. I go through about 2 pints a day, though, so I sometimes mix in a bit of decaff.
I also tend not to eat except late in the evening, so coffee helps keep hunger at bay.
Re: That "one cup too many" feeling?
Looks like the question is specifically about too much caffeine, which doesn't really seem to affect me.
I drink tea a lot - one every hour or two at work. I do it to get away from the desk but sometimes you know you are just forcing it down for the sake of it - then you start to feel a bit sickly. Specially if you accidentally put too much milk in, or the company provided tea bags are of the cheaper persuasion (and I haven't brought my own)
Re: That "one cup too many" feeling?
I'm more of a one shot or pint too many person. Can't drink tea or coffee. It's trying to get in between i don't feel anything and oh **** I really can't feel anything
Re: That "one cup too many" feeling?
You probably have a mutation variant that results in decreased metabolism of caffeine if it makes you feel weird. Most of the DNA testing kits check for it.

Just call the Ensembl API with a bit of Angular JS. Job done.
Re: That "one cup too many" feeling?
I do some volunteering at a community coffee shop - obviously I have to do quality control checks to make sure the coffee I’m serving is up to standard (several times in a shift!)

We're planning on using D3 for all graph related stuff here. "Angular JS" I'm not even getting started on my JS framework of the month rant. Actually angular has been here a while
Re: That "one cup too many" feeling?
good coffee makes me feel AWESOME
average coffee makes me feel awake and works as a tool
bad coffee and worse... instant coffeee ...makes me angry and not worth being near ;)

Currently looking at JBrowse, as suggested by the researchers in question. Will have a peak at Ensembl though, and see if it will meet their specific requirements :)

I've ended up using D3 for a scary amount of stuff over the last year. I've also picked apart an app written in Angular that was abusing pretty much every aspect of the framework. Sometimes the frameworks are the problem, sometimes it's the people using them... ;)
And I think all of the above probably helps explain why I get through so much Pepsi Max ;)

What? Getting genotyped for caffeine sensitivity *is* what passes for fun around here :p
Re: That "one cup too many" feeling?
Can't stand coffee to be honest... but do drink a ton of Pepsi Max....
