Any recommendations for a decent toaster for the kitchen ??
Dont really want to use the main oven grill as its a bit fat on amps...
Something that will do 2 or 4 slices, and big slices for home made bread.... 6x5 inches.
There is one that comes to mind.
...Sorry. Couldn't resist.
Unfortunately I have no actually helpful answer for you, as I can't even remember the brand of my 2-slicer that I've been using for a number of years, and I have no idea if it could manage homemade bread either anyway as I buy mine.

I did some toaster research the other week... and results were not good. Basically the market is flooded with pretty much the same underlying cheap design, until you spend £100 or so.
I think the best one I found was an Aldi own make, but I missed out on getting it.
How about an Xbox Series S toaster?

I've also looked at toasters recently but to get decent sized slices in any of them I found the best options were from Kitchen Aid & Dualit.
But I just can't bring myself to spend £100+ on a toaster.
I'm currently resorting to toasting my bread in the frying pan and actually preferring the results over any toast I've had from a toaster, also having a tiny kitchen, space is a premium so I'm preferring not having one at all.
The old Dualit ones which are made in the UK. Our current one is 31 years old and AFAIK we can still get parts for it.

If you can find one the old FX5200 paired with a pentium D was a hot old rig that could toast most things.
We just get cheap 4 slice toasters when we find them, but the downside is the current one is not great for thick wedges of bread / crumpets etc. The next toaster I buy must do wide items. There's a 4 slice in morrisons for £28 but no idea how wide it is as they didn't have an open box for me to check

that is a great video. I can't remember who put me on to it back in the day but I love the design and if I were one of those rich types living off my trust fund allowance with time to spare I would set up a company just to make a modern version of these that complied with modern regs.
