    Pasta Machine - Suggestions/advice

Want to get a pasta machine but need to know what to look for(ie how to tell a good one from a bad one).

Any suggestions/tips & accessories you must have.
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

It's very hard to buy a bad pasta machine - they're sufficiently low-volume that no cheap 'n' nasty ones exist in my experience.

Home-made pasta is fantastic and well worth the effort. Making lasagne without a pasta machine is entirely possible given a rolling-pin and a little elbow grease.

Make sure you can get hold of finely-ground durum wheat (semolina) as a mixture of this with plain flour makes the best pasta IMHO.

Imperial is the brand that most stores will stock. We sell Marcato, which are of equally good quality and a bit cheaper. Come with attachments to make Lasagne, Reginette and Fettucine i think. http://www.thomaswilliam.co.uk browse to equipment ---> marcato
