    learning not poison ones self

Anyone know what the best book for learning how to cook from is? Is that Delia Smith nutter's how to cook series the best thing to look at? Im a complete muppet in the kitchen if it cant go in the microwave or under the grill for a bit then im a dead loss and the girlfriend keeps asking me to cook for her!!! No chance of that happening any time soon but i could use a guide as somewhere to start cheers!!
