    Best use for Celery

    Daft Question - but what the hey

    I have a recipe that I cook once a week (Chorizo Jambalya) which uses 2-3 sticks of celery..... problem I have is that i'm throwing away the other 5-6 sticks of celery from the bunch... Every Week !

    I know it's only about 40p worth of celery, but there must be a decent recipe I can use this up in ?

    Anyone got a nice (preferably low-fat) recipe that would use up the leftover celery.

    A vegetable soup? Not the most imaginative but certainly a good starter.

    Celery soup.

    Chop up celery and an onion. Fry in a pan with a little butter. Add some chopped tatties and veg stock. Simmer for 15min. Blitz.

    Garnish with a sprig of {random: green herb}

    Celery can also be good in a pot roast. Chop up a lot of veg (inc celery, onions, carrots etc). Put in a casserole dish with random joint of meat. MAybe add a dash of wine or spices. Put in oven for a few hours. Eat.

    I think the bin recipe was the best one.

    But if you actually do like celery (can you guess that I don't like it), why not just chomp it raw as a healthy snack?

    It does add something to bolognese.

    Yeah, kind of bitter.
    I can't get passed the smell anymore, so don't add celery - I used to have to follow recipes religiously, but now I does what I likes.

    It's supposed to have aphrodisiac properties... but if not, use it as a splint?
