Question urgent recipe needed... Whole Roast Brown Onion...

    *panic*
It appears that everything I've thought about roasting onions is wrong -
I thought just chop the top off so the onion was exposed, drizzle with fresh minced garlic, salt, pepper and olive oil ruins it...

    Anyone know any better?

(But I can't go wrong with my whole roast bulb of garlic to go with my rosemary and garlic taters, and rosemary lamb!)

my mom does these with roast chicken - she just sticks the onion inside the chicken's backside, and they come out proper nice.

went with the second choice, but slow roasted... tooo slow, roasted garlic was perfect, but onion didn't caramelise! Probably needed another 40 mins of so to get the temp right!

Never mind - a whole leg of lamb for 8 people, just about fed four of us!
