No sauce, just mushrooms, onions and chips. Although some macaroni cheese or coliflower cheese is great with steak and beef.

    Stilton goes well with steak.

Cook steak as usual, but remove it from the heat just before its done to your liking

Cover in Stilton (can also put some thinly sliced mushrooms)

    Grill until cheese is cooked.

    Yummmm

Indeed it does, a marriage made in heaven

Hollandaise source goes well with steak too.

Personally i sometimes leave the juices from the steak in a pan, chuck in a bit of red wine, cream, pepper and reduce down. Lovely.

Well, when i say I do, i guess i mean my girlfriend most of the time

I would take decent roast potatoes over chips any day though.

    Cream, Stilton and bacon sauce

    1 pot cream
    1/2 bacon rashers
1/2 small slice stilton (or to taste)
    Bisto granules
    Pepper

Cook bacon till very crispy and cut into small bits

Put cream in and heat up. Mix cheese in slowly till it's all in (adjust to taste). chuck in pepper to taste. Let the cheese melt while stirring fairly continuously

Stir in Bisto (not too much) till it's thick enough to stick to the steak, but not really thick.

Voila, the lushest Stilton Sauce ever

I am not responsible for heart attacks due to massive calorie intake after ingesting this sauce

Another vote for deglazing the pan, hollandaise and bernaise. A really simple one is to chop an onion into eigths, roast it in the oven until with some olive oil until gently browned, then chuck it in a blender with some beef stock and soy sauce, magic.

A slight variation on the stilton one, fry the steak very lightly to seal the outside, then spoon over a stilton/cream/pepper mixture over the top, wrap in filo pastry and cook in the oven until the pasty is crisp.

How about a nice Dianne Sauce?

    (Whatever values you fancy...)

    Peppers, (diced)
    Mushrooms (chopped)
    Onions (diced)
    French Mustard
    Drambuie
    Cream
(Bit of fresh tarragon if you fancy)

Just before it's going to be served put some chopped tomato in it.

    Voila.

Also with the stilton if you pop the steak in the oven with Stilton and a bit of tomato over the top, and cook off some Wild Mushrooms with Tarragon and your favourite beverage (wine, whiskey, etc.) makes for a nice sauce.

Also another really nice thing we made at work the other day, get your steak, and on the top put haggis mixed with french mustard and tarragon (hot obviously), and serve with a whiskey sauce (whiskey, cream, tarragon) on a bed of roasted shallots. Lovely.

    Yup, chips is good.

I like some fried red onions, mixed with melted cheese then dolloped onto the steak.

I always mix equal parts Ketchup,Light Mayo and Dijon.
    Goes well with Steak,Chips,Burgers,Salad etc.
The classic accompaniment is Bearnaise as already mentioned above.
