Running 4 sticks of RAM - Need to up NB Voltage?

Hi, I decided to move to Windows 7 to try to cure a falling over issue with XP where the PC would just reboot itself for no apparent reason.
This didn't work. However I did read somewhere that if you are using all 4 memory slots you might have to raise the voltage on the NB in order to cope. Is this true? If so, how do I do it with an Asus p5k-e, running the latest BIOS, and what are the risks? Would I be better off replacing the 4 sticks with 2x2gb sticks?

I have same issue. Memory Check exception? or just random Reboot. I'm curious as to what is going on...

Random reboot. Same on 7 as on XP. Seems to be when copying from or to or accessing my data drive.

Sometimes neccessary if you wish to maintain the same speeds and times as for 2 sticks. But it's easier to just relax memory timings and/or speed.

Re: Running 4 sticks of RAM - Need to up NB Voltage?

So if I take them down from 4-4-4-12 to 5-5-5-18 it should be ok? Those are the timings the motherboard seems to default to...
Or would I be better off going back to my old BIOS, where tuning seemed a little bit easier?

As well as taking them to CAS5, make sure the command rate is 2T. If that still doesn't work then consider dropping the frequency (should be able to change the CPU clock: RAM ratio without affecting CPU speeds).

Cheers, I'll have a look at that when I get home tonight...
