Corsair Vengeance dimensions
Need some practical advice here guys.
I'm ordering parts for my first ever new build from scratch and after a LOT of research have decided on 8GB of 1600 Corsair Vengeance memory. My question is whether the standard profile sticks, with the heatsinks (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9), will physically fit with the other parts I have ordered. The mobo is the ASRock Z77 Extreme4, the cooler is the Xigmatek Gaia and I'm getting the Fractal Designs R3 case.
If necessary I'll get the low profile sticks (CML8GX3M2A1600C9) but atm the full size ones are available for a few quid less, and every penny I can save will be needed for the graphics card.
Re: Corsair Vengeance dimensions
Unless the sticks are unusually tall then they should fit.
Re: Corsair Vengeance dimensions
just get the low profile ones. the high heatsinks are pointless anyway.
Re: Corsair Vengeance dimensions
Yep. Big heatsinks are not as necessary as they used to be.
Re: Corsair Vengeance dimensions
Heatsinks are not required on RAM , purely for aesthetics unless you are into extreme overclocking and running crazy voltage through them.
Re: Corsair Vengeance dimensions
agreed with everyone, I have them and it just limits me when I want to upgrade to a bigger cooler.

looking at this image i think you might struggle but then you could just put the fan on the other side
