Question How can I delete spider.exe?

I have been trying to remove the game, Spider.exe from my wife's computer and have failed. I have researched the web and all suggestions found so far do not work. I suspect that there is a copy in the hidden partition on the C: drive or somewhere else that Windows does not index and this is being activated when called from the Run command.
I have removed it from Windows Components. I have deleted it from Windows/system32, Prefetch, C:\I386 (and of course, Recycle Bin). It still comes back if you summon from the Run box.
Any ideas about what I could have missed?

Go to: Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Click Add/Remove Windows Components on the left > Select Accessories and Utilities and click Details > Select Games and click Details > Untick spider Solitaire and click OK on all of the Windows and it should uninstall it.

Re: How can I delete spider.exe?

It normally lives in \Windows\System32. Files in this folder won't appear in a search unless you search 'hidden' and 'system' folders for all files, including 'hidden' and 'system' files. The 'Run' box checks here - that's why it still runs. The suggestion above should remove it. The game is a Windows component and it's just possible that Windows re-creates it in the same way as it does if you delete other system files. If you do just delete the file, do back it up, though I think it will re-appear.
Don't delete everything called spider.exe as some other software has similarly named files.
On systems where where you really don't want someone to play Windows games, you could use the Group Policy editor ('Run', 'GPEdit.exe'), if you have it. If you ceate a new Software Policy, there is a specific setting to prevent programs in \Windows\System32 from running. That's what I do at work (though I allow the administrator access - in case I get bored.) I don't think Vista has GPEdit but I'm not sure.
... I use now a big vent for the whole machine now, but I cant use it forever, it is my grandma's ventilator...

    Hi Jayell,

If you click on Control Panel in the Start Menu, then double click on Programs and Features, then given as an option, not an icon, you will see one that allows you to turn Windows Features on and off. If click on this a window will open with Games at the top. Untick the box and click OK to un-install the game or click on the + symbol to choose specific games.
