Ok, but why arent you using the 9x multi, thats what I was getting at

why use 9x when i can run 8x and run my mem 1:1 instead of 4:5
my 24/7 is about 3.75ghz 1.38v which is 417fsb @9x ...so 520+ on memory with 4:5 ratio ...pretty high for 4x1gb even with P35.
i need to test 470 4-4-4-12 versus 520 5-5-5-12 i guess.

I see. I also found that with high fsb and lower multi, the ram badwidth was much higher. I wasnt sure if you were doing it for that reason
yep i think you're spot on
now i'm debating whether to sell my 27B 6600 for a nice price and grab a x3210/q6600 or wait till the july price drops.

If you have 3.7ghz at 1.38v on a c2d, I would keep that.
the grass is always greener ....
Its not unusual....
Got to sort my kids rig out 1st, just need Cpu and cooler which come mon/tue. Other than that I have all the bits sat right next to me inc the Mb (P5B del) which is burning a hole in my eyesocket. My rig will come after but I need to save up a bit, maybe even wait for July drops and get a Quad. In the meantime I will use my kids rig and they can use my olde system Im struggling on now

They havent got any in stock, thats why I ordered from MM.
Bloke from MM reckons about 3 weeks from shipping to delivery for the UK.
Just wondering - I've got a Thermaltake MaxOrb in the mail. Think that'll do comfortably for 3GHz on a Q6600/Xeon 3220? Should be about on par with the Big Typhoon VX, or ever so slightly less effective.
If its one of these, then I would have to say that i dont think youll get very far with a quad core and that.
You *might* get your 3ghz if you get a cpu that doesnt need any extra voltage.
Yeah, that's the one. Oh well, just have to wait and see then I guess. I'll pick up an Ultra120 from Thermalright or something if it doesn't do the job.
Cheers Clunk.
