I'm not sure why theyve released two at the same time (ish), so maybe the 404 one is bad?

someone on XtremeSystems just noted that the 501 BIOS is for the P5K vanilla (as it is apparently only 1mb compared to 2mb for 0404)

Had left speedstep on in bios. it may dented score looking at results.

Edit: Both these are still betas just checked official site thought the 0404 may have been official.

Edit1 Not bad same settings except transaction booster on 1 on 0311

    Higher mobo Temps

It seem the location of the mobo tempsensor is the reason for the higher than normal temps
    motherboard temperature FAQ for the P5K Deluxe / P5K-E / P5K3 Deluxe

I'd put a temp sensor onto the heatpipe on my nb. Was suprised too see it was averaging 41C idle as my mobo is inverted in my case i was a bit wary that the heatpipes weren't working correctly. my sensor is on that side of the nb sink so that may account for my higher temp.

Good info, although, I'm a bit stumped now, where is the NB core temp shown?

The NB temp isn't shown that's from my extra sensor. imobo temp which in pc probe, everest also picks it up.. Currently mines showing 33C it was about 30~31C on commando. I'm currently running orthos so their loaded temps.

Thats what I mean, in Asus Probe, it has always shown the NB core temp as far as Ive been aware, so what is it showing, the board sensor temp, or the NB core temp...and if its the board sensor temp, where is the NB core temp shown?

don't think certainly omn the commando & this that it's ever been the nb, rather the "mobo" temp froom a sensor somewhere on your moboIt's the 1st time i've seen it being identified

where is the NB core temp shown?
    think that's easy it ain't

Ive just set all the voltages as high as they would go, and Asus probe is showing 32c idle and 36c load.

I think it must be like the cpu temps...a load of tripe

yep but tat's where i'm coming from ,like the commando, those temps seem a bit low for an nb (i know their noit as hi as nvidia) seem to me to favour sensor on mobo rather than nb

Strange though, on the P5B, those very temps dropped by 10c when I put the waterblock on there...maybe a coincidence? Or maybe the P5B did show the NB temps?

Are you running an NB waterblock at the moment?

No am going to put it back on with my gfx block when i rebuild loop next week. so i'll vbe able to do the same test.

Think i'll also stick 1 of these on the memory vrmZalman ZM-RHS1 Passive VGA RAM that area gets decent airflow, adding a heatsink should help.

looks like a bit more tunings needed with this 0404 bios orthos failed after 3.5hrs.

They are too big, already had a look

You could dremel them down a bit I suppose.

I saw some smaller ramsinks somewhere, might have been jabtech.
