holy cow, 11000 3d06 marks with a GTS - that must be well overclocked, as i hear that most gtx's barely hit 11500.

ahh im not oc btw not yet.

My GFX is a BFG factory overclocked from scan but my e6600 is stock. Will overclock soon but not just yet

So what you think of my score with the information i just gave ya now?

EDIT:Also is it better for me to go 1:1 with FSB and Dram even when not overclocking, or keep it as FSB=266 and Ram=800 (according to manufacturer specs)?

xAmritx: 11k 3DMark06 is sure not bad Congrats! But imho 3dmark's score is almost only based on graphics card performance, cpu doesnt have so much influence there. If you want to compare you overclocking success, and general cpu/ram speed, try SuperPI. Do a 1M run, see how long it takes.

3dmark06 is very CPU intensive, there is a CPU score as well A CPU overclock can make a large difference to the 3dmark06 scores.

Yeah i know there is a CPU Score in 3DM06, but he didnt post that
Imho things like SuperPI or Everest/Sandra are much better to compare cpu/ram performance, than 3dmark.

The only good thing about 3Dmark 06 is, it can push graphic cards until they break or show any artifacts

Can I ask a (possibly) daft question - can this motherboard act as a switch for LAN for another PC?

    I've currently got:

    Code:
PK5 PC --------->100mbit switch<--------second pc (gb lan card)
                              |
                              |
                             \/
                    100mbit Router (Internet)
I was wondering if it's possible to:

    Code:
second pc -------gblan----->PK5 PC ----->100mbit switch
                                                 |
                                                 |
                                                \/
                              100mbit Router (Internet)
So as to get gb lan between the two PCs, whilst retaining 100mbit LAN down to the router (internet). If it's possible, does the P5K have to be switched on in order for the second PC to get to the internet?

    Just a weird thought

Not in hardware, but you can bridge the two interfaces (or even route between the two with some routing software), which would be as effective as a switch.

Ah - thanks for that - I was hoping (randomly) I could avoid a gb switch between them to get file transfers up to max speed but I'd need it to work when the P5K was orf.

0501 looks to be the latest on the FTP site. There may be some beta versions around, but I'm not sure.

Re: P5K Deluxe Wifi AP Thread.

Hi all, I've been lurking for a while now. I firstly wanted to thank clunk and you others fora very informative thread(s).

I used to have P5B deluxe, not overclocked as i never got chance, because it was rather problematic. I had 4 of those 'boards die on me, which seemed to be related to the onboard sound. 1st board had the onboard sound and HD bus disappeard after a update. the second board died after a couple of days when l changed the sound drivers, it would no longer post and would sit there with power to fans and hdds but would give no video or start to boot and so it contiued. The 3rd and 4th (after 2months) board crashed during normal use and upon reseting it failed like the 2nd board.

Finally i swapped to this 'board i hope things go a little better, so far all is well though

I've never really overclocked before and i shall with this i was just wondering how well i would do with the tuniq tower for a cpu cooler and if anyone here has any experiance with it?
