    Would a X5650 work on a gigabyte EX58A UD5/7 ?

    Hey guys,

Anybody got an idea off hand if a X5650 will work on a gigabyte EX58A UD5/7 ? It looks like its not in the compatbility list, but the 980 is. A bit of googling vaguely shows a person listed with a ud 7 and a x5650 but I cant confirm it yet...

Maybe I should just test one. (really dont wanna take the cooler off etc though and experience that wonderful palarva needlessly lol)

    Cheers.

Im not really sure but I think xeon processors only work in xeon motherboards, scan even have a section for xeon 1366 motherboards

    http://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-...1156-1366-xeon

I dont think it will work on the EX58A UD5/7 because from what i understand xeon chips are for servers and im guessing they only work in special xeon mobos

Thanks for taking the time to pop in dude. I have found out this evening that they will work! So if anybody else is ever in doubt apparently it does work. I just need to try it next
