    ASRock Fatal1ty Z68 Fan connectors

    Hi all,

I've recently built my first computer for gaming and bought the ASRock Fatal1ty Z68 motherboard which has gone inside the Corsair Obsidian case.

I've order the Thermalright Silver Arrow cooler and looking to replace the top 200mm case fan with two Thermalright TY-140s. The question is, where do I plug these in on the board where I can control the speed? And is it possible (for the replacement fans) to be connected together and plugged into one fan header slot?

    Thanks for your help!

If you need speed control you would have to use "4pin_CHA_FAN1" with a splitter cable - search for something like 4pin or PWM fan splitter cable.

Its a decent motherboard so should be able to power two 120mm fans no problem but just double the check the amps on them - I wouldn't plug more than 1 amp total of fans into a motherboard.

Yeah, some motherboard offer programs that will allow you to control fans within Windows, some allow HWMONITOR PRO to control them, I think it can only control 4pin and not CPU in most cases, I have gone with a touchscreen fan controller and I'm really happy with it, the NZXT SENTRY LXE
