Hi, Im looking for a new board and am not sure what the difference between the Z68, P67 and x58, is there any point to the on board graphics if im using a 570?
The X58 chipset is socket 1366 which supports only the i7 900 series Intel CPU's. The Z68 and P67 are socket 1155 which only support the Sandy Bridge CPU's. So the motherboard restricts what CPU you use by the socket type, once you've decided on a CPU you generally choose a motherboard to match.
I don't think many people use the integrated GPU on Sandy Bridge, however the i5 2500K is still the best gaming CPU. Not as great value as some of the Phenom II AMD CPU's but it definitely performs better.
