    Can a Foxconn CMX 45 take a C2D E6550

My motherboard currently has a Pentium Dual Core E2160, but since the board's overclocking capabilities are almost none existent, and I would like to up the system performance, I decided to just upgrade the CPU. Won an E6550 for the princely sum of £26 so hoping I can just drop it straight in with minimum of fuss.

The manual says the board supports 1333mhz FSB but also then has (oc) next to it, but I'm assuming if it supports that, then it shouldn't a problem.

    Board specs here.

    Anybody know, either way?
    Also has the lastest BIOS.

It will work fine, at worst you will have to flash a newer BIOS. But as you said yours is the latest. So it will be fine.

Cheers. Did a bit of research myself and can't see why it wouldn't. At worst it can drop into my Asus P5W DH rig back home and replace the E6420.

Chip arrived today. Dropped it in. Booted up first time. Might keep the E2160 on the off chance I do get a motherboard that can clock it to something stupid and use it for number crunching.
