    Unlocking cores on Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3

I've got a Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 motherboard but am unable to unlock the other 2 cores on my AMD AM3 555 BE CPU. I have had them unlocked and stable on a couple of other motherboards, but my current one isn't having it, it just shows a blank screen on reboot.

Has anyone come across this before and have a solution?

If you do find anything please post back. I've been unable to unlock cores on my Athlon X3 on a GA-970a-ud3, just a blank screen as you're getting. I just assumed it was because the final core can't be unlocked but from your post it sounds like there may still be hope!

I did a bit of searching quote a while ago, but the last I heard was that core unlocking is mentioned as a feature and it's in the BIOS as an option etc but no-ones succefully unlocked any cores with one of these. I'm hoping things have changed though...

I bought this as a cheap option to tide over until I can justify getting a bulldozer CPU in the future, but when I know my CPU can run as a quad reliably it's annoying that it can't.
