    Unhappy Noisy asus m5a99x evo

    Hi....

    I have a 1 month old Aus m5a99x evo board that has started to develop a noise when data is being transferred.

    At first I thought it was my standard hard drive (its that kind of noise), unplugged it which just left my SSD connected - noise persisted. Thought possibly it was SSD drive, but I listened to it with my ear on it and nothing from it.

    I accessed the bios to reset the settings and noticed that when I move the mouse across the screen on the bios the motherboard humms quite a bit. If the system is idle it makes no noise...

    Well odd, anyone aware of such an issue. I will RMA the board, but was curious to see if anyone else had experienced such an issue.

    I had a P5K board that did the same....got worse over time. Probably a case of "screaming caps"

    Got the whole PC out and laid out on table. Worked out I must have a dodgy coil in PSU as even with my spare motherboard the PSU hums when under load.... Shame as its a very expensive PSU and just out of warranty.
