    Motherboard factory defaults

    Hi,

I sold a motherboard to someone, but forgot to return the bios settings to factory defaults before I sent it off - I previously had my CPU overclocked and some memory settings manually entered (stuff like memory timings, speeds and voltages). Would this cause a problem for the new owner when they use their own CPU, RAM, etc? Shouldn't it automatically return to optimised defaults when it detects a new CPU?

The motherboard in question is an Asus P5Q Pro (LGA775).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Re: Motherboard factory defaults

Since you have taken out all of the components chances are it will reset to default or ask you to press F1 to load default or something of that nature, I wouldn't worry.
