    Asus p8p67 Overheat Problem

Hi I was just wondering if its a fault with bios as I've not updated it since I have got the motherboard itself, I played Alan Wake for about 15 mins turned of updated windows restarted and me computer went straight into bios saying overheated at 80 degrees which is far to high so I took cpu fan of to check thermal paste was still in tact and it was but I've ordered new cpu cooler "Zalman CNPS9900-MAX Blue" with new thermal paste "Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound" but I am still convinced it could be the bios giving me the wrong cpu temperature as there are 8/9 updates since release and that's very rare for bios,

    thanks in advance....

Try using Speedfan or Aida64 to monitor temps.Sounds like a dodgy reading,or your cooler is not seated correctly, too much thermal paste, uneven coverage etc etc.Try a different temp monitor and report back.

Core temp is usually the best for cpu temps
