Awhile ago i cleaned out my pc and cleaned out the carpet of dust that had formed over my heat sink of my CPU between it and the fan. Being the numpty i am i stuck the fan on backwards so instead of blowing air it was sucking. so 2 months on i realize and switch it round.(stock cooler btw)
now on idle i used to get mobo temperatures of about 29 degrees but now i get 34/35 degrees just browsing. the only change to my system has been changing a 9500GT over for a HD7950 i'm borrowing from a friend(it was when i had the side of the case off after installing i noticed the reversed fan)
i do get lower CPU temps(2 degrees less idle) but even in the suck configuration it rarely went past 49 degrees on load(1090t hex core 3.2GHz).
my motherboard is a M4A89GTD PRO/USB3
So i was wondering is the more meaty graphics card causing extra load on my motherboard thus heating it up more or is the reversed fan entirely responsible?
Also in you guys opinion is it worth having a 2 degree hotter CPU for shaving 6 off the chips on my motherboard?
Oh and does anyone know the maximum temps that should be allowed on this mobo? havn't been able to find that out myself.
Thanks
