Asus P8Z68-V Gen3 - Fans still spin after power down

    Hi

Doing a build for a friend and have a rather odd issue. When I got to shutdown all the fans continue to spin (GPU, PSU, CPU, Case) until I hold down the power button.

I've tried updating the BIOS, ensured latest chipset drivers but just cant work this out. Anyone seen this before?

Did see one post about intel rapid storage technology driver causing this problem but that is also up-to date.

Will drop Asus a ticket as well.

What bios are you using? Did you try disabling the Q-Fan control in the bios?

Is it actually shutting the OS down? Are you still getting a picture on the monitor or does the monitor go into standby?

Actually I have the exact same issue on an old Asus P5B-E with C2D E4300. I had put it down to age but if anyone has any ideas I'd be interested as it's kind of annoying.

From what the OP said it's the same issue on my end. In essence it runs through the full shut down process and closes everything and finally switches the monitor into standby but the fans continue to run and the PC power light remains on. Any thoughts?

Re: Asus P8Z68-V Gen3 - Fans still spin after power down

Have you updated the RST as well as the BIOS?

I've seen numerous posts on forums like This which report the fans spinning all the time after shutdown and once RST was updated it stops this from occurring.
