    Exclamation ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z 990FX or Sabertooth 990FX R2.0

    Hello,

I am at a crossroads because I cannot decide on which motherboard to get which is a Windows 8 Ready motherboard. Both of the motherboards have pretty good reviews but trying to decide on which one to get is a bard as your misses saying...

Which dress is better, the Red one or the Blue one... You know what I mean it's a difficult cecission to make and I like them both to be honest, the Sabertooth has a good track record for cooling but the Formula is slitly better for ferformance. Although, both of the motherboards are good boards it's trying to make my mind up which is prooving very difficult indeed.

I don't tihnk it matters which you go for on the 990FX platform tbh. The O/C'ing prowess of the Formula is nice, but Bulldozer's TDP is going to hold you back long before any of the boards do.

Unless there is some board specific features you like, i think you'd be fine with something like the M5A99X EVO.

Edit: If the system in your spec is still correct i wouldn't even bother with a 990FX board. Windows 8 certification is nice but i'd be very surprised if you current build didn't work flawlessly.

Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

The formula is for people who want the best possible performance (overclocking and such). The Sabertooth is designed to be powerful but has extra quality measures in place to make it more reliable.

I would agree with terbinator, and I don't saw any huge difference in those mobo specs and i think that you should go for M5A99X EVO R2.0 and better invest in other hardware
