just got a m5a97 pro board and my audio drivers are up to date but when lisining to music it stutters my cpu is overclocked could that cause the problems
i would try and run it at standed clock speeds first and see if the audio problum is still there
if that fixes the audio then try and bump up the clock speeds bit by bit and stress test it each time for atleast 30mins to make sure its stable enouth to run
if the audio is still messed up at standed clock speeds then there could be a problum with drivers or you have a malfunctioning motherboard
would sticking a audio card on pc help
No, it wouldn't help. What audio are you trying to play. The problem could be with the source of the audio (CD) or with the codec trying to play it. Your best bet would be to install Foobar2000 and try opening your audio in it. If it plays well, then it isn't hardware related.
music game movies anything has problems
New build? Make sure you haven't over tightened your MB. If it's too close or touching your chassis it could cut out.
Also, my CPU is overclocked and I do get stuttering. How have you overclocked? If it's by FSB/HT then you that could be the cause, sending data along the bus too fast can cause problems.
If you overclock by multiplier then I doubt, but make sure your CPU is actually stable. Chuck it back to stock settings firstunstable overclock is usually the culprit
Download and run Intel Burn Test. It will tell you if it's stable more efficiently than anything else could. However, be sure that you're running something that will monitor CPU core temps not just the board temps that most programs will test.
That's Core Temp and Intel Burn Test. If the core temps get too high, and they will go up, then stop the test and turn your clocks down.
What cooling are you using for your CPU? (Cooler brand and model, Air/Water, type of thermal compound, type of coolant if applicable)
And what are your core temps? Are they all similar when testing?
okay i changed the audio rate down to 16 bit and it has stabled a bit but i still have issues with he audio
Run latencymon:
http://www.resplendence.com/latencymon
It'll list processes and drivers that cause latency spikes.
how could i solve this because it is really starting to bug me i cant play a game with out every 10-20 secs having a jog in audio
you do no you just linked me back to my own post
havnt had a chance to do it will do so as posiable
but what you think could cause it coz i no i have overclocked cpu to 3.8ghz
I think drivers, programs or hardware could cause it.
