Re: Asus p6x58d-e Bent Pins
Depends which pins were bent I guess, but yes could cause instability, problems detecting all ram sticks, and yes they're rather easy to break when trying to 'fix'. I don't know if it could damage your CPU, but I wouldn't risk it.
It's advertised as "no signs of failure or damage." That's clearly wrong, so return it.

Yeah I was fearing that might be the case. I've added in a picture of the socket. The main pins are at '3 o' clock' and also '6 o' clock' too. What do you think of that?

Looks damaged to me.
Re: Asus p6x58d-e Bent Pins
Sigh... Bugger. Going to be nice conversation with the seller. They'll say the it was fine etc. Will put something in the wanted section for a decent 1366 board :( as I'm having trouble finding new 1366 boards online
Re: Asus p6x58d-e Bent Pins
Ebay are more favourable towards buyers these days. You can provide photographic evidence of how the board arrived with damage - even if they provide proof that it left them without damage they are still responsible for damage occurring during delivery.
Re: Asus p6x58d-e Bent Pins
Well I have a photo of the board in the box and also of the socket as shown, so hope that helps. But I didn't record an unboxing or anything... Not looking forward to contacting the seller at all :-(
