I'd love to see a mATX MSI MPower too.

That'd throw a spanner in the works for me.

I'm now looking at going matx for the first time. I just can't see what benefit a full form factor board gives for what I need now. There are some nice Z87 boards out now. The Asrock Z87 OC Formula looks like a nice board.

Yeah, it looks fantastic, however it is also expensive and not available.

I like the new look and colour scheme of the ASUS boards, but I'm curious as to what the Gryphon is about? You have the M-Plus, the Gene VI, so what is the Gryphon aiming to achieve?

Looking forward to some mass testing soon...

It achieves the feat of being being around £40 less than the m5/gene vi with almost the same overclocking potential, and ability to use sli.

Though next to the z87m Extreme 4 the Gryphon looks a bit feature lacking in comparison for the higher cost.

The Z87m Extreme 4 does look quite nice.
I just hope they sorted out their PWM control. It's absolutely awful on my Z77 Extreme4-M

Yeah, I'm in between choosing the Gryphon and z87m Extreme 4 at the moment for my next build, leaning towards the Gryphon at the moment for the things like fan control and quality assurance. Though logically the Extreme 4 has more I/O and better sound for less. It'll probably be a last minute decision now.

    Re: Z87 mATX boards?

Z77 Extreme4-m? I did find the stage-PWM controll a bit tedious but not that bad.
The percentage based controll from MSI I must say is a lot better.
I got good experience with both MSI and AsRock. Can't imagine them to screw up a Z87 MoBo.

Asus Gryphon or Asus Maximus VI Gene. I'd go for the Gene if I was you, pretty good board, even better colour scheme... red and black

I have currently been using the Asus Gryphon for around 2 months now. Awesome little board!

My Gigabyte board is also proving to be a wonderful bit of kit:
