You know how decent motherboards have 90 degree mounted SATA connectors for general convenience, why don't they extend this to other connectors such as the 24 pin cable and USB cables?

Some motherboard companies do by the looks of it. For example the 24-pin board connector. HERE
Also can't you buy these on eBay, like THIS
Maybe they don't have these from the start due to the issue with smaller cases. Sounds easier to plug it straight in rather than trying to route the cables nicely to plug it into an angled connector. My guess anyway :P
Nice find mikeo01.
Never seen a board with a 24-pin like that.
Wouldn't help me in my case, the holes for the cable management don't really line up 100% with the 24-pin socket on my mobo, it would have to be pulled up
Ever since I got sleeved cables, I have kinda grown to like the way the 24-pin plugs in
Having 90deg SATA ports is not a sign of a decent motherboard!
You know what I mean :)
It's a feature that costs money and isn't seen on the cheapy cheap MBs.
Obviously it doesn't mean that they haven't skimped elsewhere.
It probably costs next to nothing. The SATA ports are plastic so that's easily shaped, its just a simple job of soldering a bit more to allow the connection.
I think it's just a feature for convenience taken into consideration rather than an expense.
