    Msi z87-g45

Is the MSI Z87-G45 any good? And also, is it compatible with the Corsair 128GB GS SSD? It seems that the MB has some issues with the OCZ SSD's however does this affect the Corsair?

I can only recommend that MoBo.
Had it, tested it and I love it.
Had two different SSDs, one Samsung and one Plextor. No issues what's-o-ever.
    And won quite few awards.

Neither of which is Sandforce, which is where the problems are. You didn't 'love it' enough to keep it?

    Re: Msi z87-g45

Naa, unfortunately I don't feel like Ri¢hie Ri¢h. Was for one of my friends. Wanted even to make a review while building, overclocking and testing it, but the parts arrived weeks apart and so half the time had to do with substitutions (Samsung SSD instead of the Plextor, no HDD, 1GB 1066Mhz DDR3 module instead of 2 x 4GB 1600Mhz kit, 15" DELL instead of 24" IPS ASUS, etc).

Because I have a MSI motherboard myself as well (UEFI user interface) was really easy to work with it. Plus the colour combination ended up working well for the future owner as the CPU cooler had dark shiny metallic finish plus 2 x red LED 120mm FANS plus Crucial Tracer modules with LEDs (set to orange but inside the case the red & orange LEDs look the same).

All I can say that I had, done it and was all right. For comparison had less trouble that with a AsRock MoBo (done 3x setups this year).

EDIT: For overclocking had to do literally nothing in the BIOS. Overclocking of the CPU, that's it. Left everything on AUTO and was just increasing the multiplier and testing.

Ah, okay. Nobody is rich. Pieces just fall into place.

In previous generations I would have said "avoid MSI" based on the low quality VRM components. But that isn't really true anymore. Times have changed. However, MSI's forum is currently lit up about their Haswell boards and problems with Sandforce SSDs. Other than that nobody is reporting much.

I'm an Asus fan myself, but I am using an EVGA board at the moment with no regrets.
